Mermaid Study, oils and digital. This beauty started off as an oil painting, done on 8 X 10 canvas panel. After scanning it, I touched it up quite a bit in Corel Photo-Paint, version 12. It came out really well, if I do say so myself. I just recently upgraded from CorelDraw Graphics Suit version 7 to 12, and I've been having alot of fun playing with it. That fancy Javascript home page was generated in Corel. Not bad ay? Of course, version 12 isn't the most recent version either (version 14 just came out) but it's close enough for me, I'm not fussy. By the way, this is my first venture into java land. If you can't see the image on the home page, or the links don't work, please e-mail me at jaytref@nightairstudios.com. (there is also an e-mail link on my 'About Me' page.) Thanks! |

Doctor Who and Martha, airbrush acrylics on t-shirt, XL Well, I realized recently it's been ages since I've done a portrait, so I decided to do a Doctor Who t-shirt, just for the practice (and I'm a big fan, so I wanted a Who t-shirt anyway.) It's not the best portrait I've ever done, but like I said I'm a bit rusty. (I'll have to do a Rose shirt now anyway, so hopefully I'll do better.) This is based on a photo I stole....um, ahem....downloaded from the BBC Doctor Who web site. They have a really nice stills gallery. I should point out that this piece was not authorized by the BBC, and I'm showing it as a sample of my airbrushing and somewhat rusty portrature skills. No copyright claim is being made on the subjectmatter, only this particular airbrushed interpretation. |

This is an airbrushed t-shirt commissioned by a friend who, you guessed it, runs a paintball field. This one was alot of fun to paint. |

I Love Sushi, digital. Well gosh, doesn't everyone? This began as a vector graphic which I created in Corel Draw. I then converted it to a bitmap, and touched up the shading in PhotoPaint. I would have liked to work it a bit more in Corel Painter, to give it more depth and realism, but it is already the 3rd, and I'm trying to get this Spotlight piece up reasonably on time this month. So, it's going to stay a bit more cartoony than I usually go for. |

Nocturnal Fairy, digital. This was done with Corel Painter Essentials 3. |

Chickadee Study, 8 X 10. Mixed media on canvas panel. One of the best signs of spring is the return of the birds. This is based on a breaf glimps of a bird seen from my studio window a couple weeks ago. |

Chipmunk Study, 8 X 10. Mixed media on canvas panel. This one was loosely based on a photo I took a couple of years ago while walking in the woods. I've been meaning to do a painting from it. |
